Our reading will begin when our mixologist shows you how to make a delicious libation (of course, you are welcome to enjoy any food or drink you wish during the event.) Please check below for an ingredient list and recipe. Then, potable in hand, you can kick back and enjoy some of the wonderful literary voices working in Flint, Michigan and beyond.

SPICED APPLE CIDER (Non-alcoholic)
Recipe: 4 cups
8 allspice berries
6 cinnamon sticks
6 cardamom pods
3 whole cloves
4 2-inch wide strips of orange peel (about 1-2 oranges worth)
4 cups of apple cider
Combine all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, and cook until fragrant, about 5 minutes. Can be kept warm over low heat. Strain before pouring, and reserve cinnamon sticks as a garnish.
If desired, the addition of brandy or rum makes this a delightful boozy treat.
